A Note From the Founder
From Fred Cercena - Founder of GetAway
“We understand the challenges that come with renting and protecting your home. Strong performance starts with effective marketing that puts your property in front of the right guests and presents it in a way that drives bookings and revenue. Just as important is protecting the home itself through high housekeeping standards, proactive maintenance, and regular property inspections.
I have personally owned and continue to manage several vacation rentals. Everything in The GetAway Advantage is the process our team follows to deliver the Deeply Personalized Care I would want for my own homes.
I look forward to meeting you and building a long-term partnership based on trust and mutual success.”

Why Owners Choose GetAway
Six Reasons Owners Stay
Local Roots
Two offices, two local teams. Our people live where your house is, which is why an issue gets a person on site instead of a ticket number.
An Owner Who Owns Rentals
GetAway's founder owns and manages vacation rentals himself. The program is built around what he wanted as an owner.
Cutting-Edge Revenue Management
Dynamic pricing, distribution across 30+ channels, and historical booking-trend data behind every rate decision.
Dedicated Property Care
High-quality housekeeping, property inspections, and in-house maintenance technicians in both markets.
A Real-Time Owner Dashboard
Bookings, revenue, statements, maintenance, and your own calendar blocks, visible whenever you want them.
Owners Who Stay
More than 90% of GetAway owners have remained on the rental program for five years or more.
FAQ
Homeowner Questions, Answered
The questions owners ask before they hand over a house.
GetAway distributes each home across more than 30 booking and marketing sites — including Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, Expedia, and Tripadvisor — and to GetAway's own booking site at getawayvr.com. Listings are built with professional photography, video and virtual tours, complete amenity data, and search-optimized titles and descriptions, then supported with SEO, paid search, email, social, and regional print and digital campaigns.
Management terms depend on the property, the market, and the level of service the home needs. A local GetAway manager will walk you through the full fee structure during your rental projection — there are no surprise line items introduced later.
GetAway is a New England operator with two offices — Killington, Vermont and York, Maine — and staff who live in those markets, rather than a national platform routing your home through a call center. The founder owns and manages vacation rentals himself, revenue and property care are run by the same local team, and everything is reported into one owner dashboard.
Revenue production (distribution, listing presentation, dynamic pricing, and historical booking-trend data), property care (housekeeping, inspections, photo documentation, in-house maintenance, and seasonal preparation), guest support before, during, and after each stay, and owner reporting through a real-time dashboard with monthly statements and a named local Owner/Guest Services Manager.
Yes — owner stays are blocked through the same calendar the reservations run on, so a personal week is never double-sold. How owner use is structured for your property is part of the management agreement, and a local manager will walk through it with you before anything is signed.
Rates move with demand, booking pace and lead time, day of week and minimum stay, local events, and the nights still open on the calendar, informed by historical booking-trend data. Vermont and Maine are priced against genuinely different demand curves: Vermont fills on winter weekends booked weeks out, while Southern Maine fills summer weeks booked months in advance.
Local GetAway crews in each market. Housekeeping turns the property and a separate inspection confirms it — two different jobs done by two different people — with photo documentation logged before the next arrival is confirmed.
GetAway runs in-house maintenance technicians in both markets alongside established local contractor relationships, with 24/7 support for guest and property emergencies. Work orders are tracked and visible to owners in the portal.
Yes. GetAway's real-time owner dashboard shows bookings, revenue, monthly statements, maintenance activity, and your own calendar blocks, and your named local manager is available for anything the dashboard doesn't answer.
Many GetAway owners come from another manager or from self-managing. What the transition looks like depends on your existing agreement and where you are in the season, so a local manager will review the timing with you and plan the onboarding around it.
Yes. GetAway Vacations manages vacation homes in Killington and Central Vermont from an office on Alpine Drive in Killington, and in York, York Beach, York Harbor, Cape Neddick, Ogunquit, and Wells from an office on US Route 1 in York, Maine.
